Nursery Policies and Guidelines

General Policies and Guidelines

Age Limit - We are here to help train up a child in the way he/she should go. Our target age is birth to four years. Children's church is much more equipped and available to reach older children. And for safety reasons all children over the age of four are asked to refrain from entering the nurseries.

Safety - We utilize a two part security system. And each new parent wiall be asked to fill out an information sheet.  The parent is then given a security card with a number that corresponds to their child's nursery room. The parent must bring the card back to the nursery worker/volunteer in attendance to pick up their child.  We also can not release children to anyone under the age of 15.
Adult/ Child Ratios - Every effort is made to keep the ratio of 1 adult to every 6 children (for ages 2 and up) and 1 adult to every 4 children (ages birth to 18 months). Trying to care for more children than this can cause both the workers and children to feel stressed and unhappy at church.
Nursery Hours - The nursery will be available 15 minutes prior to the beginning of a church function and will close promptly 15 minutes after the event is over.

Supplies - In order to be effective ministers to your child we ask that you bring the following items in your child's bag each and every time your child enters the nurseries:

2 diaper for every hour your child is in our care

Bottle or Cup LABELED with your child's name

A change of clothing in case of an accident

We also ask that you please refrain from allowing your child to bring toys from home into the nursery.  Many times this causes undue stress "that's mine don't touch it!" Or sadness when he/she can not find it upon departure time.

Accident Procedures - It s our goal that no child is ever injured while in our care at Alliance. However, should a child ever be injured while in our care, the policies of Alliance are:

The parent or guardian will be paged immediately

Any necessary first-aid will be administered by the staff member/volunteer

If necessary the child will be transported to an emergency facility (the parent or guardian will assume the responsibility for any treatment)

The incident will be documented by all who witnessed it.
